Now owned by Chuck and Chris Boyle, the dealership was founded by their late father, Clarence, in 1968. Clarence responded to the financial pressures of raising a family by re-uniting with his old friend, Joe Lee, and joining the sales force at Lee Buick in Perryman. Over the course of the next 16 years, Clarence became one of the top Buick sales consultants in the country.
When Clarence purchased the dealership in 1968, it meant the end of the Lee family's fifty-plus years of stewardship of Harford County's Buick headquarters, and the start of a new relationship between the Boyle family and their loyal Buick customers.
The dealership moved to its present location on Emmorton Road in Abingdon in 1977. After 25 years as a Buick dealer, Clarence sold the dealership to two of his sons, Chuck and Chris, in 1994. In 2009, Boyle Buick added GMC Truck. Up until his recent passing in March, Clarence remained actively involved as Chairman of the Board.
More than 40 years after Boyle Buick was founded, Clarence Boyle's vision to be the very best continues as the guiding principle of Boyle Buick GMC Truck today. His total commitment to his customers and his community established the benchmark for the dealership.
They believe that their success as the #1 seller of new Buicks in Maryland, as the only dealership with six "World Class" service technicians, and as the leader in customer satisfaction for sales and service is determined entirely by our ability to honor that commitment.
Boyle Buick GMC Truck’s accolades include being a recipient of Buick’s “Best in Class” award for customer satisfaction and dealership practices 11 times in the 13 years of the program, twice named “Employer of the Year” by the Susquehanna Regional Association of Retarded Citizens, and winner of first annual Harford Award (1992).
